Insulating glass is a new type of building material with good sound insulation, heat insulation, anti-frost, moisture-proof, high wind pressure resistance, beauty and application, and can reduce the weight of the building. It uses two (or three) pieces of glass. Use high-strength and high-airtight composite adhesive to bond the glass sheet to the aluminum alloy frame containing the desiccant to make high-efficiency sound-insulating and heat-insulating glass. The hollow glass curtain wall has a light and beautiful appearance, is not easy to be polluted, and saves energy. The room is warm in winter and cool in summer, which greatly improves the living environment. Insulating glass has a variety of properties superior to ordinary double-layer glass, so it has been recognized by countries all over the world, and its consumption is increasing, and the demand for corresponding two-component silicone sealant is also increasing.
The two-component silicone sealant is mainly condensation type. The main characteristics of the product are: high strength, high adhesion, excellent weathering resistance, high and low temperature resistance, ozone resistance, ultraviolet resistance, water resistance, and joint displacement resistance. Large, fast curing, no pollution, the excellent performance of the product has been unanimously recognized by customers.
During the gluing process, due to the uneven quality of the gluing workers, they do not know much about the gluing equipment and the performance of the two-component silicone sealant. Therefore, after encountering problems, many workers directly judge that the two-component silicone sealant has quality problems. , Unable to communicate well to solve the problem. In order to promote better communication between manufacturers, agents and users, find solutions to problems as soon as possible, and cooperate better, here is a summary of common problems and correct operation methods as follows:
1. After the components A and B are mixed, the curing is too fast and the construction cannot be performed or the curing is too slow, which affects the construction progress:
1. Reason:
⑴ Workers do not go through measurement when distributing glue. Based on experience, the ratio of A and B components fluctuates greatly. If component B is too long, it will cure fast, and vice versa.
(2) The curing speed of the two-component insulating glass silicone sealant is greatly affected by temperature. When the temperature is high, it cures quickly. The ratio of A and B components can be adjusted within a certain range according to the temperature.
2. Correct operation method:
⑴Whether the glue is applied manually or automatically, it is recommended to do a small experiment before normal use: adjust the ratio of component A and component B according to the curing speed to determine the pot life and curing time, and check whether the glue is uniformly mixed and whether the appearance is Exquisite, construction can be carried out after qualified.
⑵The volume of the mixing ratio of A and B components is A:B=10:1, and the curing agent of component B can be added according to the change of construction temperature. Variable mixed construction between A:B=100:8--12, and the ratio is determined according to needs.
⑶ The mixed sealant changes with temperature and humidity, the pot life (usually 20-40 minutes) and curing time (usually 4-8 hours to fully cure, 48 hours to achieve the best performance) also change. When the temperature and When the humidity increases, the pot life and curing time of the sealant will be shortened; when the temperature and humidity decrease, the pot life and curing time of the sealant will be extended.
Two. The glue dispenser has a slow flow rate or can't make glue directly
1. Reason:
⑴ Component B contains impurities: If component B is improperly handled or stored poorly during production, transportation, or storage, it will easily produce particles in contact with air.
⑵Improper construction by workers:
①When replacing component B, you need to vent first. The discharged component B accumulates on the pressure plate. Since the pressure plate of component B has only one rod, it will continue to shake during the downward pressing process and solidify on the pressure plate. The B component will fall into the new barrel. The cured B component will be dispersed into small particles after pressure, causing the gun to block;
②The mixer and filter are not cleaned frequently;
2. Correct operation method:
⑴ Before use, check whether there are solid particles between the plastic bag and the cover film in the B-component barrel. If there are particles, they must be cleaned before use.
⑵ Component B can react with moisture in the air to solidify, so it must be used up after opening (if it is really not used up, it is recommended to mix it by hand before sealing the corners and use it). It should not be exposed to the air for a long time.
⑶ When replacing component B, the solidified component B above the pressure plate and the solidified particle B component accumulated in the discharge port under the pressure plate must be cleaned before the pressure plate can be released.
⑷ The mixer and filter must be cleaned frequently. Small particles in component B will block the glue outlet and filter over time;
3. There are particles and crusts on the surface of the glue after construction.
1. Reason: caused by improper construction by workers.
⑴ If component B is improperly handled or stored badly during production, transportation or storage, it will easily produce particles when it comes in contact with the air. After mixing with component A, it will cause particles and skinning on the surface of the glue.
⑵ In the process of use by workers, the unused B component is not sealed and packaged during storage. The B component solidifies on the surface of the air to produce particles, and the mixture with the A component results in particles on the surface of the glue and skin formation.
⑶ After the components A and B are evenly mixed, the workers have not applied the glue for a long time and corrected it. The surface of the glue has dried and crusted. When the glue is applied again, the surface of the sealant has particles and crusts.
2. Correct operation method:
⑴ Before use, check whether there are solid particles between the plastic bag and the cover film in the component B barrel. If there are particles, they must be cleaned before use.
⑵ It is best to use up the B component that has been opened; if it is not all used up, it must be sealed and packaged for storage.
⑶ After the two components A and B are prepared in proportion, they should be mixed uniformly within 5 minutes, and the glue should be applied and corrected in about ten minutes. Try not to delay the time too long, because the glue will slowly react into half if it takes too long. Cured state, so the glue will appear rough with particles and crust.
Four. After mixing components A and B, they keep sticking to the hands and fade
1. Reason: caused by improper construction by workers.
The operator only relied on experience. In order to reduce the curing speed or do not understand the mixing ratio, they did not follow the range specified in the instructions for use.
The amount of component B added is too small, so that the glue cannot be fully cured, resulting in sticky hands and discoloration after the mixing and curing of components A and B.
⑵The volume of the mixing ratio of A and B components is A:B=10:1, and the curing agent can be added according to the change of construction temperature, and cannot exceed 15% of the rated curing agent, and cannot be less than 6% of the curing agent content, that is, the ratio is in A: B=100: Variable mixed construction between 8-12, and the proportion is determined according to the needs.
Five. Bubbles in the glue
1. Reason: caused by improper construction by workers.
⑴ When the components A and B are replaced and exhausted from the exhaust valve, the air will not be completely drained before the glue is started;
⑵ Air is mixed in during the manual mixing process;
2. Correct operation method:
⑴ All the air is exhausted before the glue can be started;
⑵When manually mixing the glue, it must be mixed in one direction to avoid entrapment in air bubbles and cause sealing failure; at the same time, the mixing is required to be uniform and there is no color difference;
⑶ The glue should be smooth, continuous and even without missing. It should be tamped as it is applied, without corners, and the glue layer is dense. After glue coating, the surface of the glue layer and the glass on both sides should form a plane, especially the four corners. full.
Six. There is liquid outflow when the component B of the stick is opened, and there is liquid material on the surface of the component B of the barrel, and there is a layering phenomenon:
1. Reason:
⑴ Component B is produced by evacuating and mixing powder and liquid uniformly. The longer it is left, the powder sinks due to the gravity of the earth and the liquid floats, and the surface of component B will have liquid material precipitated;
⑵ Component B contacts the air surface to solidify to produce particles, and the manufacturer sprinkles silicone oil in order to isolate the air (the term "silicone oil" is provided by the industry encyclopedia) (silicone oil is the raw material used in component B, so it has no effect on product quality);
2. Correct operation method:
⑴ Workers can stir evenly in one direction before use, and it will not affect the quality in any way;
⑵ The consistency of component B is controlled at 9~11 (the larger the value, the thinner), thicker consistency can reduce or eliminate the phenomenon of stratification;
VII. Fogging and flowing of insulating glass
